Jiu-Jitsu

36 Fundamental Techniques

Jiu-jitsu consist of over 600 techniques, but research by the Gracie Family highlights 36 techniques that consistently prove most effective in real fights. Initially developed for the U.S. Army, these 36 techniques are the cornerstone of our program. No prior experience is necessary to begin. My private, one-on-one sessions ensure a personalized and enriching experience for everyone, regardless of age, gender, or athletic ability.

How it works

Step 1: Learn the Techniques.

The 36 essential techniques are divided into 23 one-hour private sessions, allowing you to complete the course at your own pace. Each session is designed to be standalone, so you can start at any point and progress without confusion. Upon enrollment, you’ll receive a progress card to track your journey.

Step 2: Build your Reflexes

At the end of each lesson, you will develop your reflexes through a practice I call Reflex Development (RD). During this time, you’ll learn to combine techniques to handle the most common real-fight scenarios.

Step 3: Achieve Your Combatives Belt

Once you have completed each lesson three times and mastered your Reflex Development (RD), you will be eligible to test for your Combatives Belt. This 25-minute test will assess your proficiency in the 36 techniques. Passing this test qualifies you for my advanced program, the Elite Cycle, where you will apply your skills in jiu-jitsu against jiu-jitsu scenarios (rolling/sparring), building on the techniques you have mastered.
